Last friday at work a customer who i was trying to get money he owed a girl hit me with his car. he was charged with agg. assault. i ended up spending a week in the trauma unti in a dallas hosp.
THE INJURIES: compound frac. of lt. humerous. surgery here resulted in 2 metal plates, 15 screws, and 20 or so staples to close it up. next, the rt. tibia and fibula also had a compound fracture (the real cute ones where the bone tears through the skin) this is temp. repaired with metal bars on outside, then pins screwing and holding the bones together. a final surgery in 1 week or so will have 2-3 metal plates, srews and nails holding it all together.
SO... im pretty crushed. ive dealt with injuries, but nothing like this. won't be able to even think about training for 3 months. really struggling with this one. keep me in your thoughts AX. i sent some pics to ken so hopefully he will attach to my post as thumbnailsso you can see the damage first hand.

I heard about your incident, Kim, and it absolutely blew my mind. That's the sort of thing that happens on TV, or atleast it's supposed to be!! The injury list certainly sucks, but atleast you are alive. I used to want your job, but now...

WOW what a looser that guy must of been! Some people just belong in prison dont they. Can't believe the severeness of your injuries and i bet your pissed at the prospect of 3 months out of training, we know you will come back strong though and be back to where you are now pretty quickly.

Sorry for thinking this but... Dang I bet you made some damage to his car! I couldn't imagine big 270ib Kim smashing down onto a car

Anyway I wish all goes well with the healing of bones etc, stay strong bro.

Good things happen to good people, Kim. I firmly believe that. When all is said and done in about a year, buy yourself a bad-ass motorcycle with all that loot you'll have rolling in from the civil suit. Then ride it to wherever that jerk is locked up and rub it in his face. Wreckless driving, assault with a vehicle, wreckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, driving without a license (yeah, I heard that part, too!), and the list goes on and on and on!!!! It's Texas...maybe he'll get the chair!!!

Ye you would think that you would get some money out of this which is allright I guess but it depends on what sort of person you are, personally id just like to have my leg working properly!

the guy who hit me turns out to be a real winner. he has prior dui, marijuana poss., burglary, evading arrest, and is currently on 4 years of probation. nice. a have a solid lawyer, and ya- i'd prefer none of this to have happened opposed to any $$. but since it has- i'm going to get mine. believe it. i have another surgery this friday for my leg to have the rods and screws replaced by a couple plates and screws, then sewn all back up. after that, just lots of post-op care and rehab. yay.

Hope this guy rots. Doesn't appear his previous stints have been to rehabilitating.

What a looser he is, people like him should stay in jail! I would try my best to get as much possible money from this and hope all the court processes aint too complicated. My father had plates in his lower leg from a motorbike accident, use to kill when I was younger and kicked him lol.

thanks for the support fellas. i go in for surgery friday the 20th for my leg, and this should be the final one. the rods and pins will be replaced by plates and screws. a close personal friend who i train with every once in awhile is doing the surgery so i am very comfortable with that. i read alot of posts from those of you out there who are rehabbing injuries, and training through, and/or around injuries and i have the utmost respect for you guys. guess it's my turn to bite the bullet. ill up date after surgery-
