I did it again!! I knew I couldn't go more than a few weeks without buying more parts!

First payment is actually due February 4th, but why not continue to add ornaments?!?

This time around, I just ordered some custom parts...SPIKES!! If anyone has a bike and is interested, Steve at Working Class Choppers makes these in chrome and black. I went with black, but the pics are ones in chrome.

Front Axle Spikes!! (on Meanie axle)

Fender Strut Spikes (on different model bike)

And though I can't find a picture, Radiator Spikes!!!

I may go for some more in the future, but all in all, these will look pretty dang MEAN.

I'm also in the works with a guy to do a "trade" for some other VERY custom parts. I'm planning to clean up the rear end and move the license plate to the left side strut (side mount) and found a guy who cuts 'em and can do custom. In exchange for me doing a logo for his company, Road 6 Customs, he's going to cut me a side plate bracket with the skull from my current avvy in it!!! Bad-AX!!! I'm also having him cut me that same skull out of sheet so that I can paint it red to match my frame and mount it to the radiator. I always have a hard time explaining this, but if you took a sheet of paper and drew the design and cut it out in one piece, the piece that falls through (the actual skull or black part in my avvy) is what I want to mount. Weld on some simple wire to run through and tie through the radiator and it should be good to go!! Mmmm...custom metal work.

One last bit that I bought may or may not come through. A site had a part, a fiberglass scoop that goes below the radiator (behind front tire, bottom of frame), and the price on it as listed was 10% of the actual price. They had an error on the site, and about a dozen of us ordered it. Though they say it's on backorder, I really hope they honor the price and send it out. I essentially bought a $300 part for $40 shipped!!! It was on my later to-do list, but at that price, I HAD to jump on it!!

Bored, so I thought I'd throw up an update on the project here.

Had a bit of a setback in parts buyin' this month. Car needs inspected, didn't pass first time through, so gotta dump a couple bucks from the bike fund into it. Sucks! Guy is still workin on custom plate bracket for me with my skull logo. Have my spikes for the front axle, radiator bolts, and rear fender strut bolts. Going to order more spikes for valve stem caps, steering nut (behind handlebars) and shock nuts. Grips are next on the list, along with the stuff to clean up the rear end - "Mako" led tail lights, led plate frame for side mount, etc..

I hit up the dealership on March 6th to go over the bike and schedule delivery on it. I've decided to push it up to mid-March instead of the end of the month. I can't wait any longer!! If it snows, I'll pull the bike into the house. There's plenty of room in my solarium, and it has double doors to the patio. All good!

Oh, and I've given her a name for now... Project: Hell Bringer

Sold the Jeep tonight. Finally have a place beside the house to park the bike!

While at the notary, I wanted to find out about personalized plates (or vanity plates, whatever you call 'em wherever you are...). Luckily they were able to look up what I wanted to see if it was available or not. First option was taken, so I put a "dash" in there. So, in 6-8 weeks, I'll have a plate for my bike that says.....

HA!! Get it? Mean Streak? Mean 1? Mean one?

So damn excited about this one I just had to share.

Oh, and a little $$ from the Jeep sale is going towards...you wanna guess??? MORE PARTS!! BWA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

She's my daughter, which means she'll get a scholarship for a full ride due to her extreme intellect...

Don't worry, I'm already planning on her college fund. I'm not that selfish...atleast not all the time!

Ok, dilemma that I have to solve rather quickly. The stupid PA DMV rejected "MEAN-1" because of "meaning". No idea what that means, and neither does the notary lady. She said they're getting really picky nowadays because of the text message type slang going around - shortened versions of bad words and such. And of course, there's no way for me to justify to them that the bike is called Mean by the producer!! Ughh... Gotta think of something and call back to check availability, then wait for approval yet again. This sucks...

Well, after a ton of thought, I decided to try and go for WCKD1 (wicked one). It wasn't taken! Now...the wait to see if it's approved by the DMV nazis... I had to have 3 choices. My other one was 2WCKD (too wicked), and the lady filled in a third as 2WCKD1, which makes no sense to me and is one letter too much. :( Either way, I'm hoping something passes or I'm going to have to back out of it. What's the use of paying a bunch extra for a personal plate if you can't even get what you want?!?

OH YEAH, BABY!!!

Got it at 11:10am yesterday. It was sprinkling, so I didn't ride it just then. But once it stopped, I toweled her down and got to work. Off came the stock mirrors and on went the Arlen Ness scoops. (Yeah, they actually are useless. I can't see crap in 'em, but atleast they look cool and they'll keep me legal!!) Next up was the axle spikes. Then the spikes on the rear fender. Then on went the cover while I went off to do a program for work. When I came back, most everything had dried up, so I intended to ride. But first, reset the mirrors with Permatex blue, then went on the spikes for the radiator, and off came that stupid sticker on the tank warning to only use 90+ octane. Then went on the gloves and away I went!

I must have done 25 laps around the block yesterday. I needed to get the "start off in 1st" down before going anywhere else. I graduated to crossing the busier street that bisects my neighborhood, then around the 'hood. Later on in the day, I popped the helmet on and went around a bit more, going up to 3rd gear and about 30-35mph, all while keeping it well under the 3K rpm limit for the break-in period. Wow...

Traffic died down, so about 6:00pm, I left the neighborhood and took about a 4 mile trip that was part constant 25mph through a neighborhood and about a 1 mile stretch of slight highway at 55mph. As I sped up from 25 to 55, shifting through all the gears, I was amazed. Holy crap!!! That thing just pulled and pulled and I just smiled and smiled. I barely cracked 2500rpm and it didn't even sweat. Redline is 6K, and I can't imagine gunning it that hard. Supposedly I only flirted with the power/torque zone. But man.... That was exhilirating!!!!
