Interesting concept, that cheat day. How often do you have them, like once a week? Once a month?I try to avoid fried foods except on my cheat day when I have chicken wings or fish sticks.

Are you the one making the fried food? If so, atleast replace the oil you are using with virgin coconut oil or red palm oil.
Also, I believe olive oil is quite good for you.
And, Deelip - what is momo?

Olive oil good for you, but naturally you cannot fry with it.
I use Extra virgin olive oil in the kitchen all the time.
So do I, it's great for frying most things. (extra virgin) The only thing it's not good for is getting to extremely high temps so most people add a pat of butter to bring the temp up... but I've only done that a time or two.I fry with olive oil, no problems.

If anyone has gallbladder problems, stopping the oily and greasy foods becomes a necessity. Well, either that or endurin' a few hours of severe abdominal cramps.
I think a cheat day is important. I'm sure there's some research to back it up somewhere, and if not then there should be ( LOL ) , but the human body is always looking to maintain homeostasis. If you're dieting, maintaining a certain amount of supplementation, and doing this routine without waivering from it, eventually your body will acclemate to this, and the results will diminish.
Throw in a cheat day, it throws the body off, and your diet becomes more effective, because it never reaches homeostasis.
I usually will have a once a week cheat day. And like Vin, chicken wings are high on my list......LOL

It loses it's taste when brought to frying temperatures. So I do not like to use it. Lately I have been 90% about taste and plating (how it looks) and 10% about nutrition.
a cheat day is a great concept because it will help you to keep your sanity while still being on a strict diet. how often you have one is really dependant upon you..try having one cheat day every other week of strict dieting and it will help you out a bunch (mentally)Interesting concept, that cheat day. though, who don't really know that "cheat day" doesn't mean you can
do 4k calories on the chinese buffet.Just ignore me if that's what
some of you actually do on cheat day!
Oily foods are very delicious to eat and so people who are not ill would gladly chomp on it. It's only when they get ill do they think twice of eating it.
Some say that we crave the foods we are most high;ly allergic to. On some cases its true. ON some cases its because our natural levels are so low we just ahve to keep getting it unntil the levels come up.
ON teh case of fried foods, we have to be carefu; Fried foods continually could be a signal of CHRONS, colitis, or a bowl problem.
It can also be indicate don just how dry our skin is.
If you must eat fried foods,, use a healthy oil. Olive ro smart balancece or sunflower oils are easily digetsed. However in the case of smart balance we also get omegas 3s which is often missing in a typical diet.
