    Default Rotator Cuff exerise

    Share |
    Hi everyone,
I have recently started back to the gym weight training and all is going pretty well.
About a year ago i damaged my Rotator cuff in work as i have a physical and sometimes a heavy job. I have started to do 3 light Rotator Cuff exercises 2 times a week to build up the stabizing muscles around my right shoulder.
Would you advise me how many times a week i should do these exercises and when i should do the exercises IE with training chest or with legs etc
My training days are Sunday: Chest/Triceps/abs,Tuesday: Back/Biceps/Rotator Cuff, Thursday: Shoulders/Forearms/abs, Saturday: Legs/Rotator Cuff.
Any advise on how to strengthen my shoulder would be much appreciated. Thanks

I had a similar sort of injury a few years ago. I do rotator cuff exercises 4 times a week. I do them before I do my arm work out most days although sometimes I do them with the legs.. I really just go by how I feel.

The rotator cuff is a pretty small and endurance oriented muscle.

Try doing higher reps, low volume. You could definitely get away with working them out several times per week. It should recover fairly quickly, and should never get too overworked. We exercise this muscle to build up its endurance - poor endurance is what leads to injuries.
